September 2009

Thank you for visiting.

I will be taking part in a challenge ride on behalf of the British Horse Society Welfare department in Shekhawati, Rajahstan, India for eight days in September 2009. We will be riding up to 30 km a day in Shekhawati, a semi desert region in northern Rajasthan situated in the triangle between Delhi-Bikaner-Jaipur.

The ride will be made on native Indian Marwari horses. The Marwari horse today is descended from the splendid war horses that served the ruling families and warriors of feudal India, throughout and from the beginning of that country's history. Their status was unparalleled, as they were declared divine and superior to all men, including those of Royal blood.

Having travelled to India five times before and found it a beautiful and welcoming country, and being a keen amateur horseman, the combination of the two makes this the trip of a lifetime for me.

Now you might think that's great - I sponsor Steve and he gets a free holiday - but I pledge that I will sponsor myself for the whole cost of the trip, so you can be sure that every penny donated in sponsorship goes straight to the BHS and will help to support the great work they do.

You can find more information from the links below. If you would like to sponsor me then please visit http://www.justgiving.com/stevemoulton/ or alternatively send a cheque payable to British Horse Society (see About Me page).

Many thanks,

Steve Moulton
